Five Mandala Thangka Painting

Five Mandala Thangka Painting

A Mandala painting is a traditional and spiritual teaching of Buddhists. Basically it is a tool to heal and also an artwork that is created after coloring sand. The process of Mandala is hand-sketched design on a plane surface or on a platform after having a ritual prayer and blessing from a deity. The sketched design on the sand surface is colored as per individual’s choice. In the process of drawing these painting, sand is poured by the monks through a metallic funnel to create this artwork. It is necessary that sand be evenly dropped over the flat surface. This is done with the help of funnel and meditations say dhyana.
