Supplication and cultivating the motivation

First the disciples recite, ‘As the only one who can protect us from the fear of cyclic existence is the Guru Kalachakra and no other; in order to protect all mother sentient beings and myself, we offer our body speech and mind to you, we touch our heads to you lotus feet in homage.’ Then cultivating a strong sense of taking supreme refuge they recite the words, ‘Sole liberator from the fears of cyclic existence… etc.’
